Toward Brighter Shores (Depression)

 While occasional sadness is a normal part of life, sadness that persists for extended periods and impairs daily functioning may indicate a diagnosis of depression. Research indicates that one in five adolescents will face a depression diagnosis, meaning that in any given high school classroom, multiple students may be quietly struggling.


Sandbar Psychological Services offers a clear, evidence-based path forward. The therapeutic process begins with a comprehensive assessment of the specific symptoms being experienced. Following this evaluation, an individualized treatment plan is developed to help clients increase their engagement in meaningful, mood-enhancing activities while systematically addressing and restructuring the underlying thought patterns that maintain the depression.
